Young people are particularly vulnerable to harmful content through social media algorithms. As a Liberal Democrat I would urge the Government to introduce age ratings for social media platforms.
Hundreds of residents have contacted me about their concerns around the harms our children and young people are experiencing as a result of social media deliberately designed to be addictive. The Liberal Democrats and I are pushing the Government to act quickly, and we want to see age ratings for social media apps to guide parents as part of the solution.
