Bearsden and Milngavie and Health Centre

Susan has been a strong advocate for establishing a new health and care centre to serve the communities of Bearsden and Milngavie. She emphasises that the current lack of local facilities forces residents, particularly the elderly and vulnerable, to travel nearly 10 miles to Kirkintilloch for essential services such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and mental health support, which she deems "unacceptable."

To address this issue, Susan launched a petition to garner community support for the proposed health hub, aiming to demonstrate the local demand to health board officials. She has also written to NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, urging collaboration with the East Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership to prioritise the development of the new centre.
Improve Bus Access

Susan, the Liberal Democrat MP for Mid Dunbartonshire, has been actively advocating for improvements in local bus services to better serve her constituents. In October 2024, she wrote to the Scottish Government's Cabinet Secretary for Transport, emphasising the necessity for reliable bus and train services in the area. She stated, "Our community needs reliable buses and trains to help us get to work, school, and study, and I'll keep working to deliver them."

Local Schools
Susan has been a vocal advocate for the urgent rebuilding of several schools in Mid Dunbartonshire, emphasising the need for timely action and adequate funding.

Murray has highlighted the unacceptable 14-year delay in replacing St Helen's Primary School, stating that pupils "desperately need these schools to be rebuilt and the timescale they're facing is unacceptable" Susan has called on the Scottish Government to provide the necessary capital finance to expedite the reconstruction of St Helen's and other schools.
Protecting our Local Environment
Susan has a strong commitment to environmental protection within her constituency. She has expressed pride in supporting the Climate and Nature Bill, emphasising the responsibility to preserve Mid Dunbartonshire's natural beauty for future generations. Additionally, Murray has endorsed the RSPCA's KindSpark campaign, which aims to mitigate the distress that fireworks can cause pets and livestock. This initiative reflects her broader concern for animal welfare and the impact of human activities on the local environment. Murray underscores her dedication to fostering a sustainable and considerate community in Mid Dunbartonshire.

Protecting The NHS

Susan has consistently emphasised the need to protect and enhance the NHS. In her maiden speech, she highlighted her personal experience as a carer for her husband following a brain haemorrhage. Susan has highlighted the potential adverse effects of increased employer National Insurance contributions on charities and small businesses, noting that such financial strains could undermine the support these organisations provide to the NHS.
